How dry hire works

Everything you need to know before you book SFX, flame, smoke, confetti, laser or pyro equipment from HYRED. The full rules are in our general terms and conditions.

What is dry hire?

You rent the equipment and your own team runs it. We deliver tested, documented, show-ready gear; you operate the show. Need an extra pair of hands? Our certified SFX and pyrotechnics technicians are available too — see work with us.

What does the starting price cover?

The starting price on each product covers a rental of 1 to 3 days. Renting for longer? Ask for a quote and we tailor the price. All prices are in euro, excluding VAT and delivery costs.

How do I book?

Add the gear you need to your quote, fill in your dates and whether you want delivery or pick-up, and send it. We reply with availability and a tailored quotation, valid for fourteen days. The booking is confirmed once you accept it. For some orders we may ask for an advance or another form of security.

Delivery or pick-up?

Both. You can pick up at our warehouse in Affligem, Belgium, or we deliver: through trusted groupage forwarders across Europe and beyond, or by express courier when time is tight. Delivery costs are quoted separately.

When does the rental period start?

On the day the equipment is made available to you, for the period stated in your quotation.

Do I need insurance?

Yes. For the whole rental period the equipment must be fully insured for all risks, for its full value. Please send us proof of your policy.

What should I check on arrival?

Inspect the equipment as soon as you receive it and report anything that is not right straight away, at delivery. Every unit leaves our warehouse inspected and tested, and comes with its documentation.

What about consumables?

Fluids, aerosols, powders and other consumables are sold separately — see distribution or ask us with your quote. Gas cylinders (propane, CO2, nitrogen) remain the property of the supplier.

Can I cancel?

A confirmed order is binding. If you cancel it, a compensation of 15% of the total price (excl. VAT) applies, as set out in our general terms.

Who can rent?

Our equipment is for professional use only, in line with its nature and intended purpose. Subletting requires our written consent.
